Hi,

I've got a question about applying a spatial mask to the sogICA. I'm trying to apply a spatial mask (derived from an averaged VMR) that is clearly at the same resolution as the functional data, yet I am told that the mask is invalid, and the plugin is aborted.

I thought that maybe this happened because the mask derived from the averaged VMR was larger than a couple of the individual masks that I had applied to individual ICAs. To test whether that was the problem, I tried applying a mask to single-subject sogICAs: Each of my participants goes through 3 functional runs, and I've been running separate ICAs for each of the runs, using a spatial mask derived from the subject's VMR. That worked fine.
Now, when I combine the 3 resulting ICAs into a sogICA and try to apply the same mask, it again tells me that the mask is invalid, and the plugin gets aborted. How can the same mask that is valid for each individual ICA not be valid for the sogICA?

Thanks,
Anna

Before running the plugin, please make sure that one of these VTCs is linked to the VMR.
This is because the mask resolution and bounding box information is "inherited" from the VTC that was linked to the VMR during MSK creation.
Since it is assumed that all VTCs share the same bounding box and resolution (otherwise it wouldn't make sense to combined the resulting ICAs into a sogICA run), it just necessary to link (and keep linked) any of these VTC to the VMR before running the plugin. If this will be done, unless there was an error in generating the mask (e. g. the mask was generated on a different resolution or bounding box) the mask should correctly work in the sogICA plugin as well.

Awesome, that fixed the problem.

Thanks!
