Platform-Specific Issues
Mac OS X, 64-bit
- The 64-bit release of BVQX 2.0 had several display issues. These are fixed in BrainVoyager 2.1. This 64-bit version is based on the Cocoa framework and is generally superior to the 32-bit version that is based on the Carbon framework with respect to OpenGL rendering and speed of GUI elements. Since the used Qt library supports only newer developments on Cocoa, the old scripting framework is not available under the 64-bit release, i.e. there was no scripting support in 2.0. With 2.1, however, the new scripting layer has been introduced and this is fully supported in the 64-bit release.
- A limitation of Qt/Cocoa is that if multiple document are shown in multiple-document (MDI) mode (instead of tabbed mode), surface (OpenGL) windows will not go in the background when FMR or VMR windows are moved on top of them. You can usually circumvent this issue by using the "Tile" function.
Mac OS X, 32-bit
- When opening files, the folder shown in the Open/Save panes are often showing the parent folder instead of the expected folder. This issue is caused by an error in the used Qt Carbon layer and it should be fixed soon.
- When going to fullscreenn mode and back, the restored state is sometimes not correct. Clicking the green window button or manually resizing the window should fix display issues.
Windows
- No known issues.
Linux
