The fMRI Academy organized by Brain Innovation will take place from 8th to 12th of November 2010 in San Diego, USA. It will be held by Rainer Goebel, author of BrainVoyager, together with colleagues who have several years of intensive experience in using the software.
"Planning, Scanning and Understanding"
The event will take place in the "applied fMRI institute" of Dr. David Hubbard

and will involve planning and design of a simple fMRI experiment, scanning of multiple datasets and analysis and visualisation of the data. It will thus expand beyond a "simple" fMRI course by offering practical knowledge regarding the acquisition and analysis of your own datasets.
There will be lectures focusing on background knowledge of basic and selected advanced analysis methods as well as additional practical sessions that offer the opportunity to work with BrainVoyager QX on prepared sample data sets. The main path of processing will focus on the analysis of the newly acquired data.
The exercises are supervised by several experienced tutors, including Prof. Rainer Goebel, developer of BrainVoyager, Brain Tutor and Turbo-BrainVoyager.

The course offers a unique opportunity to get involved in planning, scanning and understanding of functional MRI data and is especially suited for complete beginners in the field.

Every participant is supposed to be able to start working on his own experimental design, data acquisition or analysis after visiting the course.
Please note that the number of participants is limited to appr. 30 persons. The participation costs are Euro 500 for the whole week. The costs cover the course materials and refreshments during the day but do not include accommodation. Detailed payment options will be described via email after registration.
